Pet Owners Are Making Tiny 'Nike' Sliders Out Of Their Pets' Fur

This is kind of adorable.

Pet owners are making tiny ‘Nike’ sliders out of their pets’ fur, and it’s kind of adorable.

Hilariously dubbing the makeshift, paw-sized shoes as ‘Nike HairPaws 1’, one Instagram account filmed a guide on creating the shoes. Watch how they did it here:

It’s a trend that’s been seen everywhere on the likes of social media platforms TikTok and Instagram, with other cat-owners using their pets’ shedded fur to create sandals, flip-flops – you name it!

The owner of one cat Insta account shared their method in creating the tiny bespoke fashion items via Reels, using a pet grooming glove to gently remove their cat’s excess fur.

Next, they collected the fur and flattened it so it became what resembled a sheet of felt.

Scissors in hand, the pet-owner cut out a base for the shoe – or ‘sole’ if you want to get technical – before glueing on a thick strap that was bridged over the top of the sole.

Beginning to take its shape as a mini slider, the fashionista stuck down adorable tiny ‘Nike’ ticks onto the bridge of each of the shoes before trimming down the excess fuzz.

And voilà, one very impressive pair of sliders for a very unimpressed cat.

Onlookers flocked to the comments section to share their love for the tiny cat shoes, with one writing: “Brilliant.”

“Definitely sustainable,” another added of the shoes, which are certainly flying in the face of fast fashion.

Another fan added: “Ooh good idea!”

“BUT WHEN I USE HUMAN HAIR AS SHOES, EVERYONE GETS MAD,” a different viewer quipped.

Others have tried their hand at creating their own pet-inspired accessories, with one pet-owner borrowing the fur from their dog to create a tiny sombrero for their guinea pig.

It might seem strange, but hey! Don’t knock it until you try it.
