Caitlyn Jenner 'likes' savage tweets about OJ Simpson hours after death is announced

Caitlyn Jenner 'likes' savage tweets about OJ Simpson hours after death is announced

The US reality star has harboured a long-standing hatred of the recently-deceased sportsman

Just hours after the death of OJ Simpson was announced by his family, Caitlyn Jenner has launched a social media tirade against the late controversial sportsman by 'liking' a series of hateful tweets about him.

His passing was announced on Twitter by his loved ones yesterday (11 April), with the athlete having died aged 76 following a battle with cancer.

They said: "He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

And as many fans of the star subsequently embarked online to offer their condolences to his family and share sweet tributes to OJ, Caitlyn Jenner alternatively penned an extremely scathing social media message.

The transgender media personality, most famous for being an award-winning Olympian pre-transition and being married to Kris Jenner, got straight to the point, tweeting yesterday: "Good Riddance #OJSimpson."

For those unfamiliar with Caitlyn's beef with the late star, her ex Kris was married to Robert Kardashian, famed for defending OJ in court when he was accused of murdering his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

The sportsman - who had previously pleaded no contest in a domestic violence charge against his wife during their relationship - was naturally considered a person of interest in the killings.

After charges were subsequently filed against him, the case led to an 11-month trial that attracted global attention, and was later adapted into the successful courtroom drama, American Crime Story.

Approximately 150 million people tuned in as OJ was given a very controversial not guilty verdict on 3 October 1995.

Despite the outcome of the trial, Caitlyn never disguised her opinion that it was, in fact, the former sportsman that committed the heinous double homicide.

And today, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians favourite has continued her online diatribe by 'liking' a series of tweets which allege that OJ did kill his former flame.

After National Public Radio broke the news of the athlete's passing by tweeting, 'The great Orenthal James Simpson, known as O. J ., has died.', a disgruntled user hit out online: "Fixed it for you @npr: Man who nearly decapitated his children’s mother & killed her friend in bloodbath dies."

And within a matter of minutes, Caitlyn had 'liked' the eyebrow-raising tweet.

Around the same time, she also gave her approval on another tweet, which read: "No logical person thinks he didn't do it. So, where is OJ Simpson's soul going to spend eternity?"

Appearing on Australian TV show Big Brother VIP back in 2021, Caitlyn told viewers: "It was an extraordinarily difficult time. Nicole was Kris' best friend. Had been for a long time. I was at Nicole's house two days before the murder.

"Obviously he did it, and he got away with it, and at one point he even told Nicole, 'I'll kill you and get away with it 'cause I'm O.J. Simpson.' And Nicole relayed that on to Kris at one point, and unfortunately she was right."

And later, in her very own autobiography The Secrets of My Life, she confessed to never having warmed to the star, despite running in similar circles to him.

Caitlyn even went as far as to brand him the 'most narcissistic, egocentric, neediest a***ole in the world of sports I had ever seen, and I had seen a lot of them'.
