Fans of Trigger Point believe they have spotted a huge twist involving Vicky McClure's character Lana Washington's "dodgy" boyfriend DI Thom Youngblood.
The tense drama returned on Sunday evening for another high-octane episode and left fans guessing who was behind the bomb threats of the white supremacist group the Crusaders.
Viewers watched as Lana made a major discovery at the beginning of the episode about the previous bomb, hinting that it could have been an inside job.
She explained to her boyfriend DI Thom Youngblood, played by Mark Stanley, that the previous bomb wiring technique had been done by a professional and it was a military-grade device.
Interestingly after Lana told Thom this, he said: "You did the right thing bringing this to me."
However, as Lana began to pursue her own investigation into who could be behind the deadly threats, her other half warned her from looking more into it.
Trying to justify his actions, Thom said he was in line for a DCI position and couldn't tell her too much.
After his comments, fans took to Twitter in their droves as they drew questions over his actions and branded him a "dodgy copper" suggesting he is somehow involved.
One fan wrote: "@Vicky_McClure #TriggerPoint that boyfriend is dodgy".
"Yep, the boyfriend is definitely a dodgy copper. #TriggerPoint," another penned.
A third wrote: "Oh my god! Thom said 'you did the right thing bringing this to me' he is 100%, odds on, definitely definitely a baddie - that line is in the top 10 of the evil undercover baddies' playbook #TriggerPoint".
Another viewer wrote: "I think lana's man is dodgy #TriggerPoint". While another tweeted: "Her fella is involved. #TriggerPoint".
Thom is a senior member of the Metropolitan Police, who has grown particularly close to Lana in recent months.
However, viewers watched as Lana shared a kiss with Warren Brown's character Karl Maguire, an old friend of the late Joel Nutkins, on last night's show following the death of her brother Billy.
