We treated you to the trailer for BBC's upcoming drama Life just two days ago, and it's got us pretty excited about what exactly is coming our way.

A spin-off show of Doctor Foster - which to be honest is all we really need to know - the six-part drama is from the same creators of Suranne Jones' hit show, so it's 100 per cent guaranteed to be a good 'un.

So who will be reprising their roles? Which new faces can we expect? Will Suranne herself be making an appearance? Here's everything we know so far.

What is Life About?

Set in Manchester, the six-part drama follows the stories of the residents of a large house divided into four flats. Living there is Gemma Foster's old neighbour Anna Baker (played by Victoria Hamilton) who fled Gloucester after discovering her husband Neil had had a one-night stand with the GP in series 2.

Now known as Belle, she's trying to rebuild her life and is working as a Pilates instructor up north, but her new start is compromised by the arrival of characters from her past who we are sure she would rather forget.

Belle's neighbours include Gail (played by Alison Steadman) who is married to Henry (Peter Davison), and is about to celebrate her 70th birthday when a chance encounter throws her whole life into question. Then there's David (Adrian Lester) who is happily married to Kelly (played by Rachael Stirling), but is conflicted by temptation when he meets the impulsive Saira on holiday.

Finally there's heavily pregnant Hannah (Melissa Johns) who is happily coupled up with Liam (Joshua James), but her plans get upended by the return of Andy (Calvin Demba), who she had a one-night-stand with nine months ago.

As each of the four stories unfold and intertwine, they tell a larger story about what happens when we step out of our personal space and take a closer look into other people's lives.

Does Life Have A Release Date

Unfortunately BBC has been keeping schtum in regards to the release date, but we're told it will hit screens this autumn so there shouldn't be too long to wait!

Which Cast Members Will Be Returning to Life from Doctor Foster?

So we obviously know that Gemma's neighbour Anna, played by The Crown's Victoria Hamilton, will be making a return, but BBC has also confirmed that her ex-husband Neil Baker (played by Adam James) will pop up later in the series, disrupting Anna's new life, as well as her teenage niece.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like Suranne will be reprising her role of GP Gemma, but one can hope!

Who Else Is In The Cast Of Life?

Alison Steadman (AKA Pam from Gavin & Stacey), Peter Davison (Doctor Who), Adrian Lester (Trauma) and Rachael Stirling (The Bletchley Circle) have all been confirmed to star in the new series - quite the line up!

It looks like there's going to be a whole bunch of twists and turns in this one, and as Pam herself would say: "It's all the drama Mick! I just love it!"

Sadly it looks like Suranne Jones won't be making an appearance (

We'll bring you more information as and when we receive it, so watch this space.
