If you are anything like us, gel nails are a bit of an addiction, which means you probably got yours done before the strict isolation rules kicked in and all the salons shut down.

You were likely thinking at the time, look at my sassy AF nails, but now you don't have any acetone, they've grown out an inch and you're wondering what the hell to do (no, don't pick them off!).

Well this handy hack will see you right.

Olivia Smalley, an influencer on Instagram has shared a genius idea that will cover up those unsightly cuticles - GLITTER.

Here's hoping you've all got a glitter varnish buried in your cosmetics drawer, because you can simply use it to create an ombre effect by brushing it onto the lower bed area of your nails.

Olivia demonstrated this beautifully on her IGTV and it looks seriously sassy. No-one need know what's lurking beneath.

No glitter polish lurking? Don't worry, because some stores are still delivering.

The polish Olivia used, Essie's 'Top of the Rock' doesn't seem to be available sadly. However, you could try Orly's gold glitter polish 'Halo' or Barry M's glittery option 'Fortune Teller'. The chunkier the bits of glitter the better really to cover the growth.

Olivia also advises using a file to sharpen the edges of your nails to give them more of a 'done done' look, as though you've just had them manicured yesterday.

We know at a time like this in a global health crisis thinking about nails isn't exactly top priority, but since we all have to stay home to do our bit, this will while away some time at least.

But it might not just be nails plaguing you. If you or your housemate has been huffing and puffing about split hair ends, we've received advice from a celebrity hair stylist on how to cut your hair successfully at home. Check the tips out here.

Just make sure you proceed with caution, some ladies have been cutting their boyfriend's hair with hilariously terrible results.

Least they've got something to LOL about whilst sitting at home huh?
