This Morning: Love Island's Jake Cornish Says He's Still Interested In Liberty Poole

Did Liberty just friend-zone Jake all over again?!

Love Island's Jake Cornish appeared to hint he wanted to get back together with Liberty Poole as he spoke about their break-up on This Morning today.

Chatting to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on the ITV show, Jake hinted that he hadn't given up on Liberty just yet.

"You spoke about how intense it was," Eamonn said. "Would it be less pressurised on the outside? Is this the end of Jiberty or could there be a resuscitation going on?"

To which the Somerset-based handyman explained: "It definitely would be a lot easier on the outside, like you said it’s very intense, but I don’t know.

"We haven't spoke really, we haven't spoke about anything because we just got our phones back - I only got her number last night - but I’d like to think so".

Sat next to an awkward looking Lib, who didn't seem to know where to look, Jake added with a smile: "But like I say it takes two to tango, doesn’t it."

Ruth then directed the question at Liberty, asking how she was feeling and if she would also consider a reunion.

"I’m feeling good to be fair," she said.

"There was contributing factors that obviously just led it to end. I definitely made the right decision in there for me at the time and stuff."

She went on: "Me and Jake... theres no animosity there. We still get on really well.

"So. it was the right decision for now.

"You can never say never [about a reunion] because you just don’t know what will happen in the future, but yeah for now we definitely made the right decision."

Liberty and Jake started their Love Island journey strong, but cracks begun to show as the weeks went on, and Liberty begun to question how genuine Jake was.

Issues arose after she saw comments he made about not wanting to rip her clothes off during the Movie Night challenge, and learnt that he was encouraging the other boys to cheat while in Casa Amor.

The final nail in the coffin was when Liberty learnt that many of the girls had doubts about how genuine Jake was, and then little comments he made started to niggle at her, and she decided to call it quits.

After their final date on a romantic boat trip, the pair made the decision to leave the villa ahead of the final, walking out as friends.

Is there hope for Jiberty? Only time will tell...

Love Island concludes tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub.
