We’re just going to put it out there – we don’t like spiders, and we certainly don’t like spiders anywhere near us.
You can watch the clip below.
As they were introducing a segment, Phillip suddenly changed track.
“It’s Halloween coming up, don’t panic but you’ve got a spider in your hair," he said.
Looking frightened and letting out a strangled sort of scream, Holly started demanding that Phil extracted the creepy-crawly from her blonde locks.
As Phil expertly took the eight-legged beast from Holly’s hair, the presenter looked noticeably relieved when she discovered it was only a little “money spider” that had made her ‘do its new home.
Sighing in relief, Holly told Phil: “Can you say you’ve got a money spider, when I’m expecting a tarantula on my head!”
To which Phil cheekily replied: “I’m not going to say that, am I? Where’s the fun in that?”
As you may well know, finding money spiders is meant to be good luck in some cultures – a point Holly quickly elaborated on.
“When you find a money spider, you’re meant to wave it around three times over your own head, and if it’s still on your hand, it means money will come to you, too,” she said.
After that slightly scary start to the show, Phil decided to give the money spider its own home – putting him in the Christmassy pinecones decorated on the centre of the table.
“Well, you never know how the show is going to start!” Holly chucked, before the popular pair went on with presenting the programme.
The audience at home couldn’t help but chuckle at the high drama, taking to Twitter to share their amusement at Holly’s horror.
“Halloween week and @hollywills gets a spider in her hair! Who writes this stuff?" one person laughed. "Love that she thought it was tarantula sized because Phil didn’t tell her it was tiny!”
This Morning continues weekdays at 10am on ITV.
