Baffled Fan Spots Holly Willoughby In The Morning Show

The two morning shows - one real and the other fictional - have had an unexpected crossover.

Each week, Brits across the country wake up to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, with their often hilarious interviews, celebrity guests and all the gossip from the previous day on This Morning.

They are two of the most recognisable faces on AM television, and they are so good at their job they were given a cameo in the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show. Wait, what?!

One viewer spotted the pair in the background on screen behind The Morning Show star Jennifer Aniston.

The blink-and-you-miss-it moment happens in the third episode “Chaos is the New Cocaine”.

Writing on Twitter, the new Morning Show fan shared a picture and tweeted: “Watching The Morning Show for the first time and gooped they have @thismorning on in the background.”

We are also gooped - whatever that means!

To make things even more meta, Phillip and Holly are aware of their cameo. When the first season of The Morning Show dropped in November 2019, the presenting duo looking at fan's reactions on This Morning.

Jennifer Aniston and her fellow The Morning Show star Reese Witherspoon were interviewed by This Morning icon Alison Hammond during the same episode.

Alison asked the duo how they researched their roles, with Jennifer admitting to using Alison as inspiration. She said: "You especially. This is how good I am. You didn’t notice the following I did of you. That's how much of a shadow I am.”

What a compliment!

The trailer for the second season of The Morning Show dropped in June and it looks like fans are in for more adventures with the fictional breakfast programme team.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are returning as news anchor Alex Levy (Aniston) - whose co-anchor Mitch, played by Steve Carell, has been fired over sexual misconduct allegations - and Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon), who has been brought into the newsroom, replacing Mitch (Steve Carell).

In the trailer for the upcoming season, Jennifer's character Alex looks pretty happy. In one shot, she can be seen laughing in the snow, while in another she's walking through the newsroom to a round of applause.
