The Western film genre is officially back and bloodier than ever - and viewers are obsessed.
On Wednesday, Netflix released The Harder They Fall, is one of the very films in the Western genrre to feature a predominately African American cast.

The revenge flick follows the life of an outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) who discovers that his enemy Rufus Buck (Idris Elba) is being released from prison he rounds up his crew to track Rufus down and seek revenge.

The cast also includes Zazie Beetz as Mary Fields, RJ Cyler as Jim Beckworth, Regina King as Trudy Smith, LaKeith Stanfield as Cherokee Bill, Damon Wayans Jr. as Monroe Grimes, Edi Gathegi as Bill Pickett and more.
Although it's a fictional film, most of the characters are based on real cowboys, lawmen and outlaws from 19th-century America.
After the film was released on Wednesday (3rd November), viewers showered the film with stellar reviews and praised its cast, diversity and violence.

“I need y’all to drop what you’re doing & watch this violence masterpiece,” one viewer shared on Twitter.
Another fan took to Twitter and called The Harder They Fall “brilliant”. They added: “Violent but brilliant! The cast is perfect and each member brings exactly what is needed for their particular part. Highly recommended.”
While one film fan shared: “#TheHarderTheyFall is the kind of violent western I’ve missed. The huge cast are all amazing and each have a moment to shine, with Jonathan Majors being a standout. The action is stylish, energetic and lively too."

However, they did critique the runtime. “It’s about thirty minutes too long but it’s still a ton of fun!”
While another Twitter user urged her follows to watch the film and praised the cast. “It is excellent!” She said, adding: “A western with Black leads. Regina King, Idris Elba, Jonathan Majors, and Delroy Lindo. You won’t be disappointed. Watch!”
