The series follows Jane Cavendish (played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw) who falls in love with a unique minimalist house with really cheap rent.
However, while this sounds like the ultimate dream, living in the house means she is forced to abide by the strict rules of enigmatic architect Edward (David Oyelowo).
The situation becomes even stranger for Jane, after she discovers Emma Matthews (Jessica Plummer), someone who had previously lived in the property, had been found dead there.
In one scene from Tuesday's episode, Jane is informed she's pregnant but in a heartbreaking turn of events, it's revealed she lost the baby.
After getting in touch with a charity about her loss, Jane meets a support worker named Tessa who explains that Isobel, her unborn baby, had a very low heart rate as seen in the cardiotocography (CTG) trace.
EastEnders fans soon realised the support worker was portrayed by Lisa Faulkner, who starred in the long running BBC soap in 2017 as Fi Browning.
And Lisa wasn't the only former Albert Square resident who has made an appearance on The Girl Before, fans have also spotted Ben Hardy, who played Ben between 2013-2015, Chantelle Atkins aka I'm a Celeb 2020 contestant Jessica Plummer and May Wright actress Amanda Drew.
"#theGirlBefore casting team REALLY liked #Eastenders," one Twitter user joked.
While a second user tweeted during the episode: "#TheGirlBefore is an Eastenders reunion and a half isn’t it."
Referring to Lisa's scene in the series, one fan shared: "Wasn't expecting @lisafaulkner1in #TheGirlBefore. What a great surprise."
And another viewer wrote: "This is just bougie eastenders isn’t it #TheGirlBefore."
Someone else chimed in, writing: "Why is #TheGirlBefore full of Ex Eastenders actors."
The Girl Before is available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.
