Elizabeth Debicki had been confirmed to play Princess Diana in season five and six of The Crown in 2020 while Dominic West was only rumoured to play Prince Charles.
With these first look pictures however, Netflix have now confirmed that Dominic West will be taking on the role from his predecessor Josh O'Connor.
Variety had reported crew for the fifth season of the show to return to Elstree Studios in July 2021, where the majority of The Crown is filmed. Production was promised to be kept in line with strict protocols against Covid-19, but there was hopes that the UK would have "significantly recovered" from the impact coronavirus has had on filming by the time July came around.

The fifth series of The Crown will see the cast completely change in order to reflect the passage of time between seasons. Imelda Staunton has been confirmed to take over from Olivia Coleman to play the Queen, while Lesley Manville will take the reins from Helena Bonham Carter to play Princess Margaret.
Season four of The Crown was the show's most explosive yet, focusing on the turbulent marriage between Prince Charles (Josh O'Connor) and Princess Diana (Emma Corrin).
The new series will follow the royal family throughout the 1990's - a difficult decade for the crown, seeing Windsor Castle ravaged by fire and the death of Princess Diana in a car crash.
The Queen famously called 1992 her 'annus horribilis' (Latin for 'horrible year') after it saw the family rocked by divorces, suicide and the publication of private correspondence between Princess Diana and a close friend.
The Crown's latest cast will remain until the show's sixth and final season, taking the royal family's story up until the early 2000's.
