Return To Hogwarts: Harry Potter Fans 'In Tears' As HBO Max Drops Reunion Trailer

We've spotted so many familiar faces in the trailer already!

Harry Potter fans have been reduced to tears after HBO Max shared the first teaser for the upcoming 20th anniversary reunion special.

Watch the trailer below:

The Harry Potter franchise is returning to small screens next month with lots of familiar faces returning to celebrate two decades of one of the world's biggest film franchises.

The event will see the cast reuniting at the place where it all started - Hogwarts for an alumni reunion. It looks set to be an emotional rollercoaster.

The returning cast members include Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helen Bonham Carter, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton and many more.

Fans think the woman spotted reading the newspaper at the start of the teaser is Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange. And other Potterheads came to the conclusion the woman walking through the station at the end of the clip is Emma Watson as Hermione Granger.

One fan wrote: "This thing makes me both so excited and so emotional as well (I am going to cry), one of the most awaited thing in history(at least in literary history)."

This will be the first time the cast has been together since Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part Two (
Warner Bros.)

Another Twitter user shared a picture of Snape, played by the late Alan Rickman, and joked: "No, I'm not crying."

While a third person tweeted: "Thank you so much for this beautiful invitation! What a great emotion to be able to see this wonderful reunion! I can't wait to watch it! What a wonderful way to start the new year is going to be!"

One Potterhead replied: "I’m not crying, you’re crying."

A fifth fan simply said: "I am in tears."

This is the first time members of the cast will be reuniting at Hogwarts since the conclusion of the film series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part Two, in 2011.

The 20th anniversary special is exclusive to HBO Max in the US and Sky and NOW in the UK. It will be available to stream from New Year's Day.
