And Just Like That: Peloton Unearth Shock Twist Behind Sex And The City's Devastating Scene

Peloton has come up with an alternative ending for Big.

This article contains major spoilers for And Just Like That...

If you've watched the new Sex And The City reboot, And Just Like That this weekend, then you'll know that Peloton plays a erm, rather significant role in a very big storyline.

Yup, beloved Mr Big is killed off in the first episode after a vigorous Peloton workout with his instructor, Allegra.

And if you were left sobbing and screaming at your telly, fear not, Peloton has come up with an alternative ending for Big - real name John James Preston - you can watch it below:

In the clip, which features a voiceover from Ryan Reynolds - Big can be seen chilling out in front of a roaring fire at Christmas, alongside Allegra.

"To new beginnings," he says to the instructor, who replies: "To new beginnings, you look great."

"Oh I feel great," says Big. "Shall we take another ride? Life's too short not to."

Ryan then cuts in: "And just like that, the world was reminded that regular cycling stimulates and improves your heart, lungs and circulation, reducing your risk of cardiovascular diseases, strengthens your heart muscles, lowers resting pulse and reduces blood fat levels, he's alive."

And viewers found it hilarious, with one writing: "Peloton was faster with a response than Carrie was with dialling 911."

And another said: "The woman in the ad is the same one who was leading the class while he was on the bike! This is brilliant."

Last week, after the episode aired, issued a statement on what happened - blaming Big himself.

Dr Suzanne Steinbaum - who is both a cardiologist and member of Peloton’s health and wellness advisory council - explained: “Mr Big lived what many would call an extravagant lifestyle — including cocktails, cigars, and big steaks — and was at serious risk as he had a previous cardiac event in Season 6.

"These lifestyle choices and perhaps even his family history, which often is a significant factor, were the likely cause of his death. Riding his Peloton Bike may have even helped delay his cardiac event.

“More than 80 per cent of all cardiac-related deaths are preventable through lifestyle, diet and exercise modifications. And while 25 per cent of heart attacks each year are in patients who already had one (like Mr. Big), even then they are very, very treatable. The lesson here is, KNOW YOUR NUMBERS!

"It’s always important to talk to your doctor, get tested, and have a healthy prevention strategy. The good news is Peloton helps you track heart rate while you ride, so you can do it safely.”

You can watch the first two episodes of And Just Like That on Sky and NOW.
