We only have a few days left of Love Island 2021, but it seems as if viewers have already found their winners.
Despite being an unpopular pairing at the start of the season, we’ve all hugely U-turned on Toby Aromolaran and Chloe Burrows, with fans now calling for the pair to be bestowed the £50,000 prize fund.
Watch the video below.
The change of heart comes after how both Toby and Chloe reacted to the drama unfolding between Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole. For those out the loop, the Islanders were left unconvinced when Jake told Liberty he loved her, with Chloe and Faye Winter asserting that he only made the assertion because he felt forced to.
While Chloe’s upfront and direct questioning of Jake, while supportive attitude towards Liberty saw her praised by fans as she joined Faye in standing up for her girl.
But it was Toby’s maturity in supporting a clearly unsettled Jake that got viewers talking, with Toby keeping an eye on Jake and making sure he’s okay seeing fans swoon.
“Last night’s episode of Love Island was Toby at his absolute best,” one viewer wrote on Twitter.
A second wrote: “Toby is being the friend Jake needs.”
“Didn't think I'd see the day where Toby is the voice of reason,” said a third, while a fourth added: “Toby has won my heart. Has to be said. Boy was a mess but had a full hero's character arc.”
Having previously been seen as a major ‘player’ in the early weeks of Love Island seeing him majorly disliked, Toby has now become one of the show’s most popular characters, alongside Chloe.
“Toby has gone from a boy to a man, made mistakes, learned and grown, absolute legend,” one viewer asserted. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Toby and Chloe for the win!”
“So we are all in agreement that Toby and Chloe have to win?” a second asked.
“This time two weeks ago I would have never said these two could win it but they are quickly becoming my favourite couple in there,” a third wrote. “Chloe and Toby for the win.”
But with still a few weeks until the final, we may see things all change…again.
Love Island continues weekdays and Sundays at 9pm on ITV2. Episodes are available to watch the next day on BritBox.
