Love Island Viewers Lose It After Spotting Bizarre Details In Jake's Toilet Scene

Love Island Viewers Lose It After Spotting Bizarre Details In Jake's Toilet Scene

This was intense.

Love Island was at its dramatic best on Sunday night, after Jake Cornish’s confession that he ‘loved’ girlfriend Liberty Poole left the other Islanders doubtful.

Watch the video below.

After Liberty called the girls for a summit about her conversation with Jake, both Chloe Burrows and Faye Winter expressed their doubts about Jake’s sincerity.

And after Jake heard about the reaction from Toby Aromolaran, he decided to do what many of us would do in that situation – go for a cry in the toilets.

But the scene left many fans scratching their heads about Jake’s reaction, with viewers left bemused as Jake acted more than just a little strangely.

First of all, Jake locked himself in the toilet and took off his shirt in the dramatic scenes, which amused some Love Island fans.

“Jake hiding in the toilet and emerging shirtless might be my fave Love Island moment this year,” one viewer tweeted.

A second thought Jake used the opportunity to try and assert that he was genuine: “Jake went into the toilet to fix his mask and thought taking my shirt off will dial up the drama.”

Others were left fascinated to see the Love Island loos, as unsurprisingly it’s an area that doesn’t get loads of screen-time.

“Are these the toilets?” one person asked, adding a Spongebob Squarepants meme for good measure.

“Can’t believe in how many years of Love Island I’ve only just seen where the toilet is and I’ve never questioned it before,” a second joked.

Meanwhile, hygiene-observant viewers spotted Jake seemingly didn’t wash his hands after his trip to the toilet to calm down (we are in a pandemic, after all! We’ve had it burned into our brains you wash your hands while singing Happy Birthday twice!)

“I hope they edited the time between Jake flushing the toilet and walking out the bathroom because I didn’t hear no tap,” one person wrote.

“I heard a flush of the toilet but not a splash of water in the sink,” said another. “Disgusting, wash your hands.”

“Did he even wash his hands?” a third panicked.

But perhaps the most salient point of the scene was the fact that Jake seemed more concerned about his reputation amongst his fellow Islanders, over how Liberty may be feeling.

“Jake is panicking. And why hasn’t he checked up on Liberty, please?” one person rightly pointed out.

Former Love Island winner Amber Gill said: “That man did not care to check Liberty was OK he just wanted to know who said what.”

While a third said: “Jake is spending all this time reassuring the others and NOT Liberty ,” adding a number of red flag emojis.

“Jake’s immediate reaction is to worry about himself and to run off and sulk, no concern for Liberty and how she might be feeling… it speaks volumes,” a fourth noted.

Now, with Liberty and Jake facing the public vote, could this mean the end of the villa’s strongest couple?

Love Island continues weekdays and Sundays on ITV2 and the ITV Hub. Episodes are available to watch the next day on BritBox.
