Love Island Star Faye Winter’s Family Open Up About Abuse On Social Media

Love Island Star Faye Winter’s Family Open Up About Abuse On Social Media

"There are human beings managing the islanders' social media pages who will be seriously affected by your comments."

Love Island star Faye Winter's family have opened up about some of the devastating abuse they have been receiving on social media following this week's events in the villa.

Members of Faye's family have been looking after her Instagram account while she's on the show, and on Sunday evening they took to Faye's Stories after being overwhelmed by upsetting comments.

"We understand that fans of Love Island have opinions on Friday night's episode. While we don't want to comment on the events of the show, we ask everyone to remember:

"You are watching a highly edited TV show which is created for entertainment - you can never see the full picture.

"Faye is human, she may not always get things right.

"We ask that everyone please remember this before commenting or messaging. We make no apology for turning off comments, blocking and deleting to protect the mental wellbeing of ourselves and Faye when she comes out. We would encourage anyone struggling to do the same thing.

"We hope that we can all get back to enjoying the show together from now on."

It's been a difficult week for Faye and Teddy, after the Islanders' Movie Night challenge, where they had to answer 'pub quiz' style questions. It was girls vs boys and whoever got the question right chose a clip to watch from earlier in the series.

Faye was fuming when a clip was aired of Teddy chatting to Clarisse Juliette at the start of Casa Amor. She claimed that based on the clip, Teddy hadn't been honest about what had happened when he returned to the villa.

The pair ended up having a screaming row during Friday evening's episode, with many taking to Twitter to say Faye was being 'unreasonable'.

And things took an even more dramatic turn during Sunday evening's episode, when it was revealed that two islanders - out of Dale Mehmet, Abi Rawlings, Jake Cornish, Mary Bedford, Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank - would be leaving the villa.

The show continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm...
