The Love Island final is upon us already and tonight the winning couple will be crowned. But more to the point, the winning couple will also walk away with a generous cash prize to kickstart their life together on the outside.

Four of the original cast members have made it all the way through with their partners. Tonight’s final will see the couples dress to the nines and dance at the ball - where they’ll also declare their love for one another on stage.

As the islanders read their soppy speeches, the public vote for their favourite couple and host Laura Whitmore is there to crown the winners.

Paige Turley and Finley Tapp won last year and they’re still going strong and living together a year on.

While a lot of Islanders don’t last long once they leave the villa, some couples have stayed together and have even had kids.

The winning couple is handed a £50,000 cash prize, which host Laura Whitmore then asks whether they’ll spend it together or split it in half.

Most of the winners opt to spend their prize money on travelling and enjoying life together on the outside.

How much do Love Island contestants get paid in 2021?

It’s reported that Love Island contestants get paid £250 a week while they’re in the villa, which is only £1,000 a month (if they make it a month). In 2018, it was just £200 a week.

While that’s not a huge amount, for many islanders, their exposure on the show brings a lot of future opportunities in TV, social media influencing and brand sponsorships.

Meanwhile, ITV has reportedly raked in a jaw-dropping £73.5 million from its nine official brand partnerships for this year's show. Five of the deals dictate that products must be shown or used in the Majorcan villa.

Molly-Mae Hague is ranked the most successful Love Island contestant to ever come from the show and her boyfriend, Tommy Fury, is ranked the most successful male islander of all time.

Since appearing on the show in 2019, Molly-Mae has launched her own brands and is now officially a millionaire.

Molly-Mae and Tommy are reportedly living together in Manchester.
