Love Island Fans Confused As Aaron And Mary Put On A United Front On Aftersun

Love Island Fans Confused As Aaron And Mary Put On A United Front On Aftersun

Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson appeared on Aftersun and fans are confused about the status of their relationship.

Love Island fans have been left confused after Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson's appearance on Aftersun.

The pair joined Laura Whitmore on Sunday night to discuss their time in the villa as well as the next steps in their relationship.

Watch the clip below:

After being dumped from the Island, Mary and Aaron sat down for a glass of wine to reflect on their time in the villa.

Mary said: “My journey in the villa started when you came in. We actually had fun every single day.”

Aaron said: “I feel like we’ve built a strong connection in such a short amount of time.”

Mary and Aaron arrived on the Aftersun set linking arms and looked very much like a couple. Laura asked Mary about her comment about being "lowkey obsessed" with Aaron in the villa.

But when they started to discuss their current relationship status and whether they'll become exclusive in the future, Mary said Aaron was a "best friend" and added they'll "see where things go" once they return home.

Fans were left confused, with many taking to social media to discuss the interview. One fan tagged a friend in a comment that said: "I was shocked when she said this."

A second user wrote: "Didn’t see that coming."

While a third referenced a vote amongst the Islanders for the least compatible couple. Mary and Aaron were unfortunately in the bottom. "Why the hell did he make such a scene about being the least compatible then."

Mary and Aaron's Love Island journey began when Mary entered as a Casa Amor bombshell. After exploring her connection with Toby Aromolaran, she was brought back to the main villa. But they weren't meant to be as Toby soon realised he had a stronger connection with his original beau Chloe Burrows and swiftly broke things off with Mary.

Days later, there was a recoupling which saw Abigail Rawlings - who was coupled up with Toby when he returned to the main villa with Mary - couple up with Dale Mehmet, despite his growing feelings for Mary.

But romance was not in the cards for Dale and Mary, with the barber from Glasgow savagely dumped from the Island.

Soon after, Aaron and Priya Gopaldas arrived and Mary had an instant connection with the footballer from Devon - and the rest is history.

Love Island continues weekdays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
