Love Actually Fans Are Just Realising They Can't Name A Single Character

Now, we would consider ourselves major fans of Love Actually - in fact, we're not ashamed to admit we've already watched it twice this festive season.

However, in between those iconic moments - such as Emma Thompson's character sobbing over Alan Rickman buying his work colleague a fancy necklace, or Keira Knightley's "I look quite pretty actually" - we've realised a major flaw. We have no idea what any of the characters are actually called.

Yup, just think about it. What is Emma Thompson's character called? And Alan Rickman's - does he have a name? Liam Neeson?! What about the work colleague?

For such an all-star cast, we seriously struggle to recall any of their characters.

Apart from perhaps Jamie - simply because of "I hate Uncle Jamie!" Oh and Karl, because "night Karl!"

But when it comes to the others, we've had to reach for Google a number of times.

And it seems we're not the only ones struggling. One Love Actually fan even questioned whether the characters have names.

They wrote on Twitter: "Love actually is my favourite xmas film but I've just realised i cannot name a single character. like what is Keira Knightley called? Alan Rickman? Emma Thompson? do they even have names."

Another said: "I feel like literally nobody who ever watches Love Actually knows any of the characters' names, no matter how many times they've seen it. I only remember that Alan Rickman's character is called Harry, and I only remember that because of the irony."

A third said: "Do the characters in Love Actually even have names? Is anyone even acting? In my mind actual Alan Rickman really did that to actual Emma Thompson."

Perhaps it's simply because the cast are all so star studded, we find it easier to refer to them by their real names?

Maybe we need to watch it again just to take better note...
