Good Morning Britain Presenter Richard Madeley's Comments On Kate Middleton's Body Cause Outrage

Good Morning Britain viewers were not happy with host Richard Madeley this morning, after he made a comment about Kate Middleton's body.

The comment was made during a segment about this weekend's Earthshot Prize Awards - in which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in attendance.

The ceremony is held to raise awareness of the impact of climate change, and awards five £1million prizes every year for people who have created incredible innovations aimed at tackling climate change.

Guests were asked to recycle their outfits for the evening, with Kate wearing a stunning £4,290 Alexander McQueen gown from 2011.

After watching a video clip of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the awards, Richard made a comment about Kate's figure.

"She’s so slim isn’t she, Kate," he said, to which Susanna replied: "She is, isn’t she?"

"Tiny, tiny waist," Richard added, with Susanna commenting: "She looks absolutely terrific."

The conversation moved swiftly on, but GMB viewers were left unimpressed.

One asked: "Shouldn’t he be focused on what #EarthshotLondon2021 was about, not Kate Middleton’s waist line."

While another said: "Whole VT about climate change…what earthshot can do for the planet…switch back to @richardm56

and all he says is about how slim Kate Middleton is. Geez do better."

And a third added: "Good morning Britain report on the Earthshot prize event, after which Richard Madely comments on how slim Kate is! Maybe a comment on the actual item reported on would have been good."

"Richard is it really necessary to make personal comments about Kate like that?" Added another.

A fifth wrote: "The Duchess of Cambridge gives an impassioned speech for Earthshot and all Richard Madeley can say is how tiny her waist is. He immediately trivialises the moment, objectifies her and belittles her contribution. Where’s the anger that was directed at Piers Morgan."
