Some viewers felt incredibly old watching the most recent edition of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! – and that’s thanks to Matty Lee.
The baby-faced Olympic athlete (who is a mere 23 years old) made us all feel decrepit and aged thanks to his phone box blunder.

The gold medallist admitted that he had never used an old-fashioned dial phone before, with Richard Madeley having to show him how to make the all-important phone call.

Our head is in our hands…
Luckily, we weren’t the only people watching at home to feel old, with many other viewers taking to Twitter to lament just how aged we really are.
“Matty has never used a rotary dial phone,” wrote one person, who shared a gif from the movie Freaky Friday which read “I’m old!”

“Me watching Matty not know how to use that style of phone,” said a person, also sharing a gif (this time from The Hobbit) which read: “I’m old, Gandalf. I know I don’t look it, but I’m beginning to feel it in my heart.”
“Matty’s never seen a phone, aww he’s too young,” laughed a third viewer, while a fourth lamented: “Oh Matty, it’s not hard to work a dial phone!”
A fifth viewer huffed: “Well thanks to Matty for making me feel ancient with him not knowing what a rotary phone looks like,”

And a sixth said: “Watching Matty Lee trying to use a phone box is making me feel VERY old!”
Thankfully, Richard has shown Matty exactly how to use a phone, so he won’t be making that error again any time soon.
