It’s been a hugely eventful I’m a Celebrity this year, but while Danny Miller was crowned this year’s King of the Castle, it’s presenters Ant and Dec who are the real winners.

The cheeky duo further cemented their national treasure status as they dished out digs squarely aimed at Boris Johnson, after a disastrous few weeks for the prime minister.

And the finale was no exception, with Ant and Dec decided to slip in another gag about Johnson.

As this year’s series drew to a close, Ant and Dec assured viewers at home that “they’re always looking ahead” for the 2022 series, and joked they’d already signed up their first campmate.

At this moment, Dec produced a navy blue campmate t-shirt which read BORIS on the back, before saying: “Evening Prime Minister,” one final time.

And the idea isn't impossible - in 2017, Johnson's father, Stanley, appeared on I'm A Celeb....and actually faired rather well in the jungle.

Fans loved Ant and Dec’s biting satire, taking to Twitter to praise the pair.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “Can’t wait to hear about the Christmas party next year when Boris tells his story.”

A second added: “Already checking the app ready to vote for Boris to do the first trial.”

“One of the best highlights of every episode,” a third chuckled, and a fourth added: “I definitely need Ant and Dec to do a daily ‘Evening Prime Minister’ on their social media.”

Ant and Dec’s digs at Number 10 were even recognised during Prime Minister’s Questions last week, when Labour leader Keir Starmer referenced the show to Johnson.

Pointing towards the ‘alleged’ party that happened in Downing Street during lockdown last year, the leader of the opposition said: “It is obvious was happened. Ant and Dec are ahead of the Prime Minister on this. The Prime Minister has been caught red-handed.”
