Lady Gaga Is Unrecognisable As First House Of Gucci Trailer Drops

Lady Gaga Is Unrecognisable As First House Of Gucci Trailer Drops

The crime drama - starring pop-star and actress Lady Gaga - hits screens in November.

Lady Gaga's new crime drama, House Of Gucci, officially has its first trailer.

The movie, about the infamous Gucci family, stars Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani alongside a massive cast, including Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, and Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, plus Adam Driver as Maurizio Gucci and Salma Hayek as Giuseppina "Pina" Auriemm.

Check out the trailer below:

The drama is directed by none other than Ridley Scott, and sees Gaga appearing as the lead, Patrizia, who is the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci.

The trailer begins with Patrizia strutting down an Italian sidewalk, and looking seductively at the Gucci store.

We hear he confess that the name drew her in, thanks to its link to "wealth, style [and] power".

"But that name was a curse too," Adam Driver's Maurizio adds.

Maurizio was grandson of Guccio Gucci himself, who founded the designer fashion label.

And Maurizio was shot to death outside a house in Milan in 1995 after Patrizia Reggiani ordered his murder. It came in the wake of their split several years earlier, in 1985, where he offered her a $650,000 (£465,400) divorce settlement.

She was convicted of this in 1998, and only left prison in 2014.

The film is set to be based on the lead-up to Patrizia's trial and what got her there.

The movie is adapted from Sara Gay Forden’s 2000 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, And Greed, and penned by Roberto Bentivegna.

Ridley Scott, Giannina Scott and Scott Free Productions co-produce.

The new gig is the first for Gaga since her impressive on-screen performance alongside Bradley Cooper in 2018 hit, A Star Is Born.

And if it goes anywhere near as well, she's on to a winner. Her A Star Is Born performance landed her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, and she also won Best Original Song thanks to her track, ‘Shallow’.

House Of Gucci hits cinemas on November 24th.
