People Are Losing It Over Bake Off Star Jürgen In Sexy Throwback Pic

Well, hello Jürgen!

We’re two weeks into The Great British Bake Off, and we already know who we’re backing to win.

We’ve totally fallen for the wonderful Jürgen, the 56-year-old IT professional who hails from Germany.

We love you, Jürgen! (

And it seems judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith adore him too, dubbing him the new “flavour king” and seeing him land Star Baker twice in a row (even if his family didn’t pick up to hear the news, bless him).

But while he’s totally lovable, having won the hearts of the nation, Jürgen was quite the silver fox in his heyday – giving us all the more reason to love him.

The official Bake Off Twitter account shared a black and white photo of Jürgen as a young man, which set tongues wagging amongst Bake Off fans.

“Well hallo!” said one person in reply, adding the eyes staring emoji.

“This is the sort of content I come to Twitter for,” a second said.

A third added: “He’s a model and he’s looking good,” while a fourth chipped in: “I don’t speak German but I can if you like.”

“How do I become the Baker’s Wife?” asked a fifth, and a sixth summed it up for us all when they wrote “so cute.”

In Tuesday night’s episode, Jürgen wowed with his ‘Cup of Chai’ brandy snaps, and smashed it with his ‘sandwiched jammy biscuits’ (which are clearly very different to Jammy Dodgers).

But it was his ‘Grandpa’s Windmill’ showstopper that really impressed Prue and Paul, and saw him land Star Baker for the second time in a row.

Sadly, Jairzinho had less luck, with the 51-year-old failing to impress despite his unique flavour combinations – and was eliminated from the tent.

Will Jürgen make it third time lucky during next week’s Bread Week? Or will another baker rise to the occasion?

The Great British Bake Off continues Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
