Good Morning Britain: Martin Lewis 'Farts' Live On Air

In the words of Love Island legend Michael Griffiths, things turned a little ‘chaldish’ on Good Morning Britain this morning.

Presenters Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis discussed the news that US President Joe Biden reportedly broke wind in front of Camilla Parker-Bowles while making small talk at the COP26 summit.

And while chatting with yoga instructor Aggie Mackenzie, who advised the best position to let gas pass through your body, Martin couldn’t help but give it a go – with unsurprising results.

Trying out the position, Martin brought his knees into his chest and seemingly “aimed” at Susanna, who couldn’t help but grin as the windy antics.

“It’s not doing anything for me, you’ll be pleased to hear,” Martin said, before the audience heard the sound of someone letting rip.

Of course, Martin isn’t rude enough to pass gas while aiming at his colleagues, with the sound effect having been played by producers for comic effect.

However, the studio was divided as to whether President Biden was in the wrong for farting in the presence of royalty.

“If we need to fart, we need to fart,” Martin said.

“I wonder if we are a little bit po-faced about farting, do you think presenters can hold it in when they're sitting in on a three hour shift presenting telly?

“It can be really bad for someone's digestive health to keep it in!”

However, Susanna disagreed, replying: “I don't think deliberately going out and having no self-control, when you have self-control, should be encouraged.”

But Martin couldn’t help but slip in another little flatulence gag.

“We call him President Biden,” he said. “Perhaps we should start to call him President Trump.”

We can’t help but feel a little winded by all this…
