Several Gogglebox stars will not be returning to the Channel 4 show following the deaths of their loved ones.

As many as five stars are not letting cameras into their living rooms any more, the channel has revealed.

Those not making a comeback include Linda McGarry, Carolyne, Alex and Louis Michael and Marina Wingrove, after they tragically lost family members this year.

The first untimely death was that of Pete McGarry, 71, who passed away in June following a short illness.

Pete first appeared on the show with his wife Linda and his son George Gilbey in 2013 - during its second series.

However, Linda won't be returning without him.

Andrew Michael subsequently died in August, aged 61, and like Linda, his wife Carolyne and their children Alex and Louis are also not set to join the show again for the next series.

Then, 92-year-old Mary Cook's passing was announced last month. She filmed with her best friend Marina Wingrove, who is also now stepping away from the series.

"We have had people from the show pass away recently," Gogglebox’s executive producer Victoria Ray told The Daily Star.

"We lost Mary and Andy. And a little while ago we lost Pete.

"Their loved ones won’t be taking part in the show for the moment. Understandably, they want their privacy."

The publication adds that all of the stars will be able to return to the show at a later date, should they decide to do so.

A representative from Channel 4 said: ‘It’s a massive loss in every way. We feel it too.

"We are still in touch with all the loved ones. We talk to them all the time. They are still part of the Gogglebox family."

The news comes after Gogglebox dedicated its most recent episode to Andrew and Mary, following their tragic passings.

We wish their family all the love and hope to see them on screens again soon!
