Everything We Know About Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman

While Chad Michael Murray might have been the ultimate ‘00s teen heartthrob, the actor will be taking on a more menacing role as the titular murderer in Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman.

Chad will be joining the ranks of other actors who have taken on the role of Ted Bundy, including Zac Efron in 2019's Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile; Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s James Marsters in 2008’s The Capture of the Green River Killer; and Mark Harmon in 1986’s The Deliberate Stranger.

So, how much do we know about the latest film?

What’s Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman about?

The official synopsis tells us: “A spectre roams the highways of a gritty and decadent 1970s America, hunting for his next prey — his name is Ted Bundy (Chad Michael Murray).

“Tracking him is the intrepid female detective Kathleen McChesney (Holland Roden), working out of the Seattle Police bureau, and rookie FBI profiler Robert Ressler (Jake Hays), the government agent who coined the term 'serial killer.'

“This is the true story behind the manhunt that brought America's most fearsome boogieman to justice.”

What makes this movie different is the focus on the man hunt for the killer, rather than just Ted Bundy’s story.
