Everything We Know About The Final Season Of Killing Eve

Everything We Know About The Final Season Of Killing Eve

We are so excited for this season.

Killing Eve only has one more season to go and while we're super sad that this will be the last time we see Eve and Villanelle causing chaos, we also can't wait to watch it.

Killing Eve has also announced that the final season is now in production - so what do we know about the fate of our fave assassin?

Watch the clip below to see the announcement:

When will it air?

We do not have an air date for the final season yet but we know it will be premiering in 2022 after filming started in June 2021.

Who will be in it?

We know for sure that Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) will be back as our fave protagonists, as we can see in the clip that's been released.

However, we're not so sure on the other characters.

After seeing Eve's husband Niko (Owen McDonnell) narrowly escape death in season three, we're hoping he will be back, even if it's to forgive Eve.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle said this when asked about if Niko will be in the line-up: "Who the devil knows [if he'll be back]? He's not dead, as far as we know."

Harriet Walter's character, Villanelle's mentor and secret assassin for The Twelve Dasha Duzran, had a heart attack in the last series, but that might not spell the end of her journey.

Suzanne Heathcote, season three's head writer, told TV Line that they "may find a way to resurrect her in season four". Fingers crossed!

Are there any clues from the clip?

People have noticed something in particular in the clip. It appears that Eve is donning a platinum blonde hair in the clip, along with big sunglasses and a trench coat (a disguise perhaps?).

Who's writing the final season?

So each series has had a lead writer who has had mighty creative chops. The first series was led by Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the second by The Crown's Emerald Fennell and the third by Suzanne Heathcote.

However, the final season will be in the capable hands of Laura Neal. You'll recognise her work if you've ever watched Secret Diary of a Call Girl, My Mad Fat Diary or Sex Education.

With a portfolio like that, we're sure Eve and Villanelle will get the ending they deserve.
