Harry Potter Fans Stunned As Luna Lovegood Appears In Silent Witness

Silent Witness fans have been treated to the ultimate crossover as it appears Luna Lovegood has stepped beyond the magical realm into the equally murky world of law.

Yep, actress Evanna Lynch, who played spaced-out Ravenclaw Luna in the franchise from Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, is now playing Paisley in Silent Witness, with the BBC One drama now in its 24^th season.

Paisley made her on-screen debut on Monday night’s episode, as she was visiting her boyfriend Scott – currently in prison.

Paisley was desperate for Scott’s case to be reviewed after he agreed to appeal for parole, following help from the psychologist.

But while Silent Witness was as dark, gritty and gripping as it always is, us Potterheads were more fixated at seeing Luna Lovegood outside of Hogwarts.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “Luna Lovegood?” followed by a screaming meme.

“Was that Evanna Lynch I just spotted?” asked a second.

A third wrote: “Is anyone else trying to process Luna Lovegood? It’s proper knocked me!”

“Luna Lovegood has been hanging around Nargles too much, she’s dating a prisoner,” joked a fourth.

A fifth said: “Luna Lovegood, I recognise that sweet Irish accent anywhere!”

Like many of her Harry Potter co-stars, Evanna has had a hugely successful career having ‘graduated’ from Hogwarts.

She has starred in films such as My Name Is Emily, Danny and the Human Zoo and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Evanna also impressed American audiences when she competed in the US version of Strictly, titled Dancing With The Stars.

She came third place, losing out to American radio personality Bobby Bones and his partner Sharna Burgess.

In other Harry Potter news, there’s now a Forbidden Forest experience open in the UK.

The one-way woodland path, based in Arley Hall and Gardens in Cheshire, sees visitors come across creatures including Hippogriffs, Nifflers, Unicorns and Centaurs.

Silent Witness continues Tuesday night at 9pm on BBC One.
