Emmerdale Fans Can't Stop Laughing At Diane Twisting Her Ankle

Emmerdale Fans Can't Stop Laughing At Diane Twisting Her Ankle

Poor Diane!

Emmerdale fans have been waiting for days to find out what exactly the crippling accident that had been teased for Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) would be.

The pub landlady is set to leave the Emmerdale farm later this year in dramatic scenes - and last week she went on a date with the mysterious Rodney Blackstock.

Well, viewers of the ITV soap finally got to see the 'accident', and after all the hype, it's fair to say that no one expected it to be so hilarious.

Watch Diane twisting her ankle below:

After a tragic date with Michael, Rodney stepped in to save the day and used it as an opportunity to win Diane back.

The pair end up back at Belle’s B&B, where a tipsy Diane agrees to move in with Rodney.

The next day, however, Diane regrets what she said and as she prepares to take back her offer, she twists her ankle between a table and a sofa in absolute agony.

Reacting to the viral clip, one viewer said: “She twisted her ankle but is holding her knee?”

While another fan joked: “Oscar worthy.”

One other viewer shared: “I cried at this last night!!”

Elizabeth Estensen confirmed she would bid farewell to the ITV soap this year, after appearing for more than 22 years.

Past storylines have seen her ripped off by her conman lover Charlie, and stabbed in the dark by Chas Dingle.

On her decision to retire from the programme Elisabeth Estensen said:

For the past 22 years I have loved playing Diane Sugden - she’s kind, reliable and fiercely loyal. However, I now feel the time has come to say goodbye.

"Emmerdale will always remain special to me. I’ve been treated with respect and kindness and I’ve had the very best friends and colleagues, both past and present. I’ll miss everyone dearly."

All we can say is, it could have been worse Diane!

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV.
