First Look At The Final Series Of Derry Girls Is Here

The girls are in big trouble.

Christmas has come early for Derry Girls fans this year. Channel 4 has released a special first look teaser of the final ever series and it looks like the lifelong pals are in big trouble.

Watch the intense teaser below:

The short clip is purposely vague and only lasts a few seconds but there's already so much to unpack.

Erin Quinn (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Michelle Mallon (Jamie-Lee O'Donnell), Clare Devlin (Nicola Coughlan), James Maguire (Dylan Llewellyn) and Orla McCool (Louisa Harland) are caught sneaking out of a building by military officers late at night.

One of the officers shouts at the terrified teens: “Put your hands in the air, slowly turn around, and face your palm flat against the wall.”

The youngsters are in a complete state of shock and Clare, who is visibly shaken, replies: “You have my full cooperation, Sir!”

While we will have to wait until next year to find out the events leading up to this intense interrogation, the second series ended with Derry awaiting the arrival of President Bill Clinton in November 1995.

The sitcom is a coming-of-age story which focuses on a group of teens during the end of the early 1990s 'Troubles' in Derry.

We've only seen a few seconds from the new series and we're hooked already.

The teaser comes two days after Derry Girls and Bridgerton star Nicola bid an emotional farewell to the much loved Irish-set sitcom on Instagram.

Series three finished filming this week and to commemorate the end of an era, Nicola shared an adorable polaroid picture with her co-star Louisa Harland, best known for playing Orla.

"Goodbye Derry Girls, it’s been quite a ride," the 34-year-old actress captioned the post.

In January, series creator and writer Lisa McGee later confirmed in September that the third series would be its last.
