Mums Are Sharing Their Own Post-Partum Looks After Kate Middleton’s Glam Appearance

Mums Are Sharing Their Own Post-Partum Looks After Kate Middleton’s Glam Appearance

The Duchess of Cambridge introduced her little boy to the world just a few hours after giving birth.

Like she did with her past two children, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out of the Lindo Wing with her new baby in her arms looking like she was ready for the red carpet, despite giving birth just a couple of hours before.

Wearing a scarlet dress and heels paired with perfectly styled hair and flawless make-up, Kate debuted her third child to the world, beaming from ear to ear, with her proud hubby by her side.

But many mums know that this isn't always the case, and there isn't always a stylist ready to pop you into a new dress and heels - more like a midwife to help you pop to the loo in your hospital gown.

Social media has now been flooded with post-partum pictures from mamas comparing their own experiences to the Duchess'.

Pip Thompson posted a picture on Twitter of her first moments with her newborn son, which she captioned: "Certainly will not be wearing heels or make up when I finally leave hospital."

Speaking to PRETTY52 about the image, Pip Thompson said: "I was induced due to complications of suffering from Fibromyalgia.

"Two days of labour without being able to sleep. I felt god awful, but when my boy was passed to me, I was over the moon. My husband took this photo 20 mins after he was born, both of us asleep!

"I may have felt like hell, but I loved the photo! My fibromyalgia is my worst enemy, but I was able to have a natural birth. I'm not a confident person at all. But in that moment I felt like a goddess."

New mama Brogan O'Donell also posted a side-by-side of Kate and herself, writing: "Kate Middleton hours after giving birth VS me hours after giving birth. How does she look so good?"

She continued: "I couldn't feel my legs for hours after giving birth, I was in and out of sleep I was so so tired, I couldn't stand up and when I did oh lord I seen hell.

"My whole body was swollen, EVEN MY EYELIDS WERE SWOLLEN. I couldn't close my legs because of the tube that was up in there bloody hell."

"Thinking back giving birth was fun/not fun ... but I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat."

And, speaking about why she'd shared the image, Brogan told PRETTY52: "I wanted to show the real reality of child birth, the real aftermath of the most incredible moment of your life.

"Unfortunately it's not all glitz and glam."

Mum-of-two Jo Lloyd also shared her pictures with PRETTY52, showing the precious moments with her own baby, Austin, straight from the hospital.

She explained: "I think it's important to show the real look of giving birth so that there's less pressure on other mums to look good too!

"Dignity goes out the window when you're bringing a baby into the world as everyone who's been through it knows so I don't know why people pretend it's glamourous.

"There could not be anything less important in that magical moment than how you look."

Taking to Facebook, mama blogger Ruth Annie Parnell posted a snap of herself with her baby in her arms, both fast asleep. Sharing a few words, the mum, who has two twins Freddie and William, wrote: "Expectation vs reality!"

She told PRETTY52: "I decided to share it for a bit of fun but I can see so many people commenting on it and relating to it.

"It's not that I think Kate is bad for coming out of the hospital like that, she's been made to, bless her!"
