Have you ever given your iPhone a closer look while posing for selfies?

Well, many users of the popular Apple device have spotted a small black dot on the back of their phone, nestled between the camera and the flash.

The inclusion of this small ‘hole’ on your iPhone has led to some users being puzzled – but we can tell you exactly what this black dot is, and just why it’s so useful.

According to the iPhone user manual, this black dot is actually your device’s surreptitious third microphone.

Why does your iPhone need a third microphone? Well, when you’re filming at concerts, parties or other ‘noisy’/crowded events, the third microphone ensures a sharper sound quality.

It also allows helps eliminate any unwanted background noise.

In other iPhone news, people are discovering how to move their Safari search bar on their device after the iOS 15 update meant it moved positions.

When the iOS 15 update was made available late last year, it promised to give your device a number of impressive new features which include: a more comprehensive FaceTime, a brand new ‘Focus’ feature and ‘SharePlay’ – a feature which allows users to share music and movies over video calls.

But for all the slick new details added into the update, some Apple users have been left frustrated by the changes that have been made to Safari, Apple devices’ default browser app.

The update sees the URL bar, that was once sat at the top of the screen, migrate to the bottom of the display, and disappears entirely as you scroll.

While it’s thought to help people scroll one-handed, iPhone users have been left unimpressed by the change – and have been looking how to revert it back to its more classic design.

You can read more about how to reset your Safari here.
