With the clocks going backwards heralding the start of colder, darker nights, we all have chocolate on the brain right now.

With Christmas in mind, we're currently mulling over which advent calendar to treat ourselves with - and Maltesers may have given us the answer with their brand new Truffles Advent calendar.

Reading "Tis the Season to be Truffly", the gorgeous selection offers both classic and white chocolate helpings in the run up to Christmas Day.

The advent calendars are available in Tesco stores for £8, according to savvy Instagram shopping page @well_this_is_new.

And it seems Maltesers are truly knocking it out the park with creating seasonal treats this year.

The moreish brand favourite have capitalised on the chocolate orange flavour craze by creating a choc-orange bunny, too - which is set to be released next year.

Maltesers later confirmed the zesty chocolate treats will be launching in time for Easter 2021, and while we're gutted they're not ready for us to scoff right now, we are convinced they will be worth the wait.

In other Christmas food news, one zany brand is hoping to capture the very essence of your festive roast in a gin.

Yep, you read that right - you can taste your turkey, roast potatoes and pigs in blankets as an alcoholic beverage, thanks to Nelson's Distillery & School.

The Staffordshire-based distillery has combined the tastiest Crimbo dinner components and concocted their own spirit. Sipping it, you'll taste "the sweetness of cranberry fused with the complexity of sage".

Another spirit they've concocted that may not go down so well is their Brussel Sprout vodka.

We'll admit it certainly sounds a little bizarre, but we'll try anything once! Fill up our glasses ASAP, please!
