With these increasingly bleak and depressing times, we're all in dire need for a stiff drink down the pub (lockdown tier and social distancing permitting, of course).

And what better way to get us down supporting our local than offering us a free gin and tonic? We'll raise a glass to that!

As part of the 'Here's to the Pub' campaign from Ei Publican Partnerships, you can get a free drink in over 1,250 pubs across the UK with more than 30 drinks to choose from by simply accessing a voucher online.

To claim your drinks all you have to do is visit www.great-british-pubs.co.uk, register on the app, choose your pub, and follow the instructions the redeem your drink. The offer runs until 29th October 2020.

The campaign is being supported by actor Will Mellor, who may be best known to audiences for his role as the wild Gaz Wilkinson in the much-missed BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

Speaking about our Great British pastime of having an afternoon down the boozer, Mellor said: "The campaign is about getting people to support their local pubs and making sure that they stay open, they're putting in all the work in to keep people safe and staying in the guidelines so it's up to us to support them and make sure we keep them open.

"The local pub isn't just about young people, it's about all the community.

"For the older generation, their only social outlet is going to the pub and they sit there and feel part of the community and people speak to them and see how they are, most of the time they probably just sit at home on their own, if you take that away from them then what else have they got?"

If you're not in the mood for a cheeky G&T, other popular drinks available in the deal include Heineken, John Smiths Strongbow Dark Fruit, Budweiser, Rekorderlig.

It's not just alcoholic beverages included in the deal, with the teetotal among us also being able to order J2O and Pepsi with their voucher.

Bottoms up, everyone!
