Yorkshire Tea Is Launching A Jam And Toast Flavour

This is as British as it gets.

There is nothing more quintessentially British than tea, jam and toast.

So, it's kind of shocking that Yorkshire Tea are the first to knock together a jam and toast flavoured brew.

Sourced and blended from natural ingredients, the Toast & Jam Brew is going to be exclusively available at Asda supermarkets from this Thursday (24th September).

Best served with a splash of milk, the hot drink is perfectly fruity and comforting, just like our favourite breakfast staple.

Inventor, Kate Halloran, who is Tea Innovation Manager at Yorkshire Tea, said: "Toast & Jam is a lip-smacking smattering of toasty, jammy loveliness.

"Perfect for mornings, it is a strong breakfast blend with all of the loveliness of jam on toast without the crumbs!

"We wanted to create a tea that will send people into their day with a spring in their step and a smile in their soul."

She added: "This new brew has been a long time in the making and I absolutely can't wait for everyone to try it. We hope you love it as much as we do."

A pack will cos a RRP of £2.29 - a bargain considering you get 40 tea bags.

And later in the year, you can expect to find the teabags in other supermarkets and shops, too.

The tea connoisseurs have been teasing the launch for a while now, sharing pictures of someone dipping their breakfast into their cuppa' on social media.

And it has had a mixed reception, to say the least.

"Abonomation...or genius?," the tea brand wrote alongside a GIF of the jam toast dunking.

"The most disgusting abuse of tea I've ever seen," one dramatic tea fanatic wrote in the comments.

Meanwhile, another penned: "That should be classified as a war crime... a war on tea and a war on jam."

A third was more open minded, however, writing: "Whatever people feel happy dunking in their tea is a deeply personal decision and should not be the subject of debate. The tea, however, is Yorkshire without question. #Dunking".

We'll certainly be giving this a try, if only because of our deep and unquestionable loyalty to Yorkshire Tea (it really is the best brew - dont @ us).
