Nestlé has pulled the plug on Tooty Frooties after 60 years in the confectionery aisles. Yes, there are far worse things going on in the world, but you're allowed to be sad about it.
The confectionery giant says it made the decision to axe the sweets due to 'declining popularity'.
Tooty Frooties were actually discontinued earlier this year, but now Nestlé has confirmed the multi-coloured chewy sweets are gone for good this time.

Confirming the sad news while replying to a Tooty Frooties fan on Twitter, Nestlé shared: "Unfortunately, we've had to say goodbye to Tooty Frooties, Philip. Our love for Tooty Frooties will always be there but, for now, we have to let it go."
In another tweet, Nestlé added: "All good things come to an end we're afraid. That goes for our Tooty Frooties too! We're always working on lots of new exciting creations so you never know what you might get in future!"
A spokesperson for Nestlé said that Tooty Frooties have become much less trendy in recent years, with shoppers preferring sweet treats like Random jellies and foams rather than harder, chewy alternatives.

But while Tooty Frooties are gone (but not forgotten), Nestlé says that new sweets are imminent.
"Sweet tastes and trends change over the years and Tooty Frooties have become much less popular in the decades since their launch," the spokesperson explained.
"In 2019, people prefer the jelly and foamy sweets you find in Rowntree's Randoms and that's why we've decided to concentrate on new products under the Randoms brand."
Fans of the sweets expressed their disappointment on Twitter using the #SaveTootyFrooties hashtag.

"This is an outrage. First the Cabana and now this. Unforgivable," declared one.
And another person added: "NOOOOOOO! How can you get rid of Tootie Fruities these are my absolute favourite since childhood along with jelly tots!! It's a sad day for me [sic]."
We say stockpile them while you still can.
