Watch the video below.
Taking to TikTok, Janelle Rohner showed her followers how she'd cut up a cucumber into relatively small slices, before dipping the ends in sugar or sugar substitute.
"I was today years old when I learned that if you dip a cucumber in sugar, it tastes like watermelon," she said, before taking a crunch and looking shocked.
She later added: "My mind was not ready for this! So weird but it does give off watermelon vibes.

Naturally, the good people of TikTok were similarly taken aback by the news, with the video racking up an impressive 17 million views.
Viewers took to the comments to copy what they've seen, before sharing the results.
"Just tested and..." wrote one eager taste tester, before adding a shocked face.
"I just tried it and it really did taste like watermelon," said a second.

A third exclaimed: "Omg I can taste it!", while a fourth said: "I've been doing this for years!"
Others suggested their more unusual cucumber recipes that we now have an odd desire to try.
"If you add salt to cucumbers, it tastes like fries!" one person suggested, with a drooling emoji.
"Okay, hear me out - watermelon with tajine!" added another. "It's so good!"
The similarity in their taste may be because they are both part of the Cucurbitacea family - meaning they share similar growing and care requirements, and have similar physical characteristics.
