Tango Ice Blast Launches New Sour Watermelon Flavour

The new flavour follows the brand's no-sugar recipe, and it looks delicious.

A Tango Ice Blast has become a cinema staple, and now there is a new, zingy flavour in town.

As well as cherry and blue raspberry tangy frozen goodness, you will now be able to get your chops around a sour watermelon Tango Ice Blast.

The new, tasty addition to the menu is currently exclusively available at Cineworld cinemas across the country.

"Everyone seems to be loving Sour Watermelon Tango Ice Blast. Available exclusively while stocks last at @cineworld," announced the drinks brand on Monday.

However, it's here for a limited time only while stocks last, so there's no better time than the present to go see that movie you've been desperate to see with your mates.

Tango Ice Blast's latest frozen explosion is bright green in colour, and comes in either small, medium and large sizes as normal.

The taste sensation follows the new no-sugar recipe, which was announced earlier this year as part of new government tax rules on sugary drinks.

The move was confirmed in March on the website for Slush Puppie - the license holder of the product.

"Tango Ice Blast, The UKs favourite fizzy frozen drink, is now available in No Sugar!" read the announcement.

"After extensive product development, testing, and in-cinema trials we are really excited to announce your favourite cinema treat is now guilt-free. All core flavours and limited editions going forward will be No Sugar.

"Tango Ice Blast No Sugar will be available in the following cinemas: Odeon, Cineworld, Vue, Empire, Showcase, Reel. A large number of our Independent customers will also be changing over to No Sugar."

Tango Ice Blasts now contain sucralose sweetener instead of sugar, which is arguably better for your waistline, although the move still drew some criticisms.

Watermelon sour isn't the first limited edition flavour for Tango Ice Blasts, and there has previously been punchy peach and passionfruit, pina coco'lada, lemon fizz, and pineapple versions for fans of the drink.
