We love learning about new baking trends, but none come quite as pretty as the latest.

Don't rainbow prism cakes - made of milk and gelatin - look almost too good to eat?

While gelatin cakes are nothing new to the baking world, this stunning technicolored version, created by restaurant owner Hiroya Tsunekawa, takes the bake to the next level.

Hiroya from Japan shared the recipe for his incredible cake on Twitter - and surprisingly, it only requires five ingredients and a few simple steps.

All you need to make the eye-pleasing cake is 150ml of water, 300ml of milk, 60grams of granulated sugar, 20ml of syrup and 4grams of agar powder (this will form your gelatine base).

Translated by SoraNews24, Hiroya's method sees you begin by combining your agar powder, water and granulated sugar in a saucepan.

Heat the mixture on the hob until the contents come to a boil, then turn off the heat. Then, stir your milk into the mixture and place it in the refrigerator to chill and harden into gelatin.

In a separate pot, repeat the same steps as before but stir in an additional 300 milliliters of water and 20 milliliters of shaved ice syrup - the more brightly coloured, the better!

Again, pop it in the fridge to solidify.

Once nicely chilled, take the mixtures out of the fridge and cut the colourful syrup gelatin into small cubes and arrange them on top of the white milk gelatin, which will serve as the base.

Et voila: you have your incredible prism cake!

Hiroya's post has already received over 78,000 likes, and since, keen bakers have been quick to show off their versions of the cake.

Anyone else dying to give this a go? Though we still think this looks far too good to eat...
