Ah, Quality Street. It really is a British institution.

You'll likely be all too familiar with fighting off friends and family members for last toffee finger, and praying that maybe, just maybe, you'll get your hands on the coveted 'purple one'.

Having been around since 1936, we really thought the trusty tin was an unchanging constant in our lives.

So, you'll probably be as surprised as us to learn that there is now a brand new Quality Street chocolatey product on the shelves, in an 85 year first for the brand.

Quality Street is introducing a brand new product - and it's not in a tin (
Quality Street/ Nestle)

Introducing the brand new Quality Street Intrigue: a range of indulgent truffles inspired by classic elements from our favourite chocolate tin, such as praline, caramel and fruit.

Arriving in UK stores this week, the delicious chocolates will be sold in 200g packets of 20 and each come individually wrapped.

One truffle is salted caramel flavour (
Quality Street/Nestle)

The first delicious new truffle is salted caramel - the brand's new spin on the Mackintosh caramel toffee.

With a silky-smooth chocolate centre and a solid, milk chocolate coating, the bitesize truffle will be dipped in crunchy salted caramel chunks to add texture and, of course, an irresistible flavour.

The orange truffle is another tasty offering (
Quality Street/Nestle)

Also on offer will be an orange truffle, which is promised to be "bursting full of a tantalising citrus flavour".

Inspired by (you guessed it) the orange cream, the truffle will be wrapped in a milk chocolate coating and sprinkled with dried orange segments. Mmmm.

The hazelnut truffle is inspired by 'the green one' and 'the purple one' (
Quality Street/ Nestle)

While finally, deriving from the 'green triangle' and the 'purple one' the praline truffle will be coated in hazelnut pieces with a milk chocolate shell.

The truffles are be selling for a RRP of £5.00 in Asda right now, and will also arrive in Morrisons at the beginning of March. Prices may vary.

This isn't the only exciting news for chocolate lovers, as Aero also recently announced it was bringing out a tasty caramel edition of its much loved bar.

Available as a 100g sharing bar, the milk chocolate is made with cocoa (responsibly sourced - yay) twisted with flavours of the sugary treat. Each bar has an RRP of £1.

What a time to be a chocaholic!
