Nestlé has created pink KitKat Easter eggs with ruby chocolate, and the treat will be a millennial's dream come true.

The chocolate isn't pumped full of colouring to give it a rose-tinted hue either, as the pink egg is actually completely natural.

Ruby chocolate is a fairly new discovery, and KitKat recently introduced a new version of its classic biscuity treat coated in the pink cocoa to the UK last year.

These exciting new Easter eggs are wrapped up in bright pink foil, and come with two packs of four of the pink chocolate wafer biscuits on the side. It is thought that they will be priced around the £10 mark.

Nestlé revealed that the tasty chocolate eggs will be released later this month, although there is no exact date when the indulgent treat will be hitting supermarket shelves.

Ruby chocolate is made from ruby cocoa beans, and the pink hue comes from a powder extracted during the processing.

The flavour of the KitKat is said to be similar to white chocolate with intense berry undertones kicking in with every bite.

The pink chocolate is the first new natural chocolate colour since Nestlé introduced white chocolate over 80 years ago, and scientists have spent years perfecting the taste.

A number of other KitKat Easter eggs already exist, including a salted caramel fudge KitKat chunky version as well as the classic chunky.

And it's not just these pretty-in-pink chocolate treats which are sending shoppers wild, as Mars just launched a Bounty Easter egg with pieces of tropical coconut inside the shell.

The giant egg weighs in at a whopping 494g and comes along with one milk and one dark Bounty chocolate bar.

Just like the pink KitKat Easter treat, the Bounty version will set you back £10 but is being sold exclusively at Tesco stores or online.
