Just when you thought your Pimm's intake was over for the year, the brand goes and drops a boozy jam in Sainsbury's supermarkets.

Pimm's partnered with England's oldest jam makers, Duerr's, to create the fruity preserve, a delicious combination of strawberry, tangerine and mint flavours with a hint of gin (the alcohol Pimm's is made up of FYI).

It is now in Sainsbury's stores nationwide for the first time (after debuting in other UK supermarkets earlier this summer), and will set you back just £1.99.

It will usually retail for £2.49, but is currently available for a reduced price as an introductory offer - so you better get in quick whilst it's cheap.

We think it'll make the perfect stocking filler for Christmas (yes we did just use the C word) for Pimm's lovers.

Although you don't need to be selfless and give yours away if you'd rather keep yours in the breakfast cupboard.

Now that the weather is cooling down, we'll no doubt all find ourselves reaching for comforting toast and crumpets at weekends and we cannot think of anything better to top it with than this jam.

But you don't need to reserve it only for breakfast time, it can be added to scones for a new way to enjoy afternoon tea or as a modern twist on the classic Victoria sponge cake. The options are endless!

Lizzy Forster, Senior Brand Manager, Pimm's, said: "With a taste just like the iconic British summer tipple, shoppers can keep summer going by enjoying Pimm's preserve into the winter months and all year round.

"The jam is ideal for any occasion - simply slather generously onto scones with lashings of clotted cream - perfect!"

You just know it's going to be delicious too, given that partner brand Duerr's has been making preserves since 1881.

The jam maker has created the Pimm's jam by infusing gin with herbal botanicals, caramelised orange and delicate spices.
