Nando’s Is Re-Opening Some Of Its Branches For Delivery

There is a God!

While we've been missing many of our favourite restaurants during the coronavirus lockdown, Nando's has to be pretty close to the top of the list.

So, we were thrilled to discover that the high street chicken chain is re-opening six of its restaurants for delivery, and has plans to open more in the next couple of weeks.

The famed Peri Peri providers shut up shop back on March 23rd, in adherence to the government's social distancing guidelines.

But now those Portugese chicken flavours are slowly making their way back into our lives, as the restaurant chain has teamed up with Deliveroo to bring meals directly to our homes.

Four of the reopened restaurants can be found in London, while two of them are in Manchester. They will run with opening hours from 12pm to 9pm.

Wondering if you're one of the lucky locals? The specific chains available on the app from today are:

  • London - Clink Street
  • London - Camberwell
  • London - Canary Jubilee
  • London - Gloucester Road
  • Manchester - Fallowfield
  • Manchester - Printworks

If your closest branch is not on the list, unfortunately you won't yet be able to order Nando's from home.

However, don't be disheartened. If the first phase of the re-opening scheme is successful, the chain has plans to deliver more Peri-Peri goodness from branches in other parts of the UK, too.

The restaurants that have re-opened will operate behind closed doors and run exclusively for delivery only - which means they will not be offering eat in or collect service at this time.

Plus, their menus will be reduced "to help the team maintain social distance in the kitchen and food prep areas".

But Nando's assure us that loads of the favourites including PERi-PERi chicken wings, halloumi and PERi chips will still be available to enjoy at home. Mmmm.

Stating that staff and customer safety is their priority, Nando's state: "Each Nando's restaurant has been working under Public Health England guidelines for the past week on top of their existing health and safety procedures.

"Every member of the team has been washing their hands more frequently while maintaining social distance during shifts.

"After a successful trial re-opening serving meals to local good causes they are now upping production to serve the public.

"Each restaurant team will continue to cook meals every shift for local charities as part of their No Chuckin Our Chicken programme and NHS health care workers as well as serving the public via delivery."

The fast food chain add: "The restaurant teams will also be working with Deliveroo to make sure that deliveries are as safe as possible, drivers will maintain social distancing while waiting to pick up orders, restaurant staff will hand over food while maintaining social distance and contactless delivery will be available upon request."

Now, bring on the chicken!
