Let's be honest, going without Nando's for the duration of lockdown has been a *struggle*.

But, don't worry! The high street chicken shop has now released some exciting newness to keep our cravings in check, if you're not lucky enough to have a local chain that's open.

Introducing Garlic PERinaise. Yep, you read that right. The tasty sauce is basically the same great tasting smooth and creamy PERinaise but with an added garlicky kick. Mmmmm.

It's made to be slathered on chips or crisps, spread in your sandwiches or even tossed on top of salads.

Oh - and we were happy to hear Nando's assure us that eating it with a spoon is also fine...

Now available in ASDA, Sainsbury's and Iceland supermarkets across the UK, the new Garlic PERinaise comes in two bottle sizes: 265g and 465g.

The smaller bottle will cost around £1.85, while the larger one comes in at a RRP of £2.95. Prices may vary from store-to-store.

The sauces join Nando's extensive PERinaise collection, with Mild, Hot and Vegan editions also available to purchase.

After the launch, the sauce is set to roll out across more UK supermarkets and stores in the coming months.

The exciting launch comes as some lucky Nando's lovers have been able to order their favourite dishes to their doors, as the company begins to re-open its doors amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The famed PERi PERi providers shut up shop back on March 23rd, in adherence to the government's social distancing guidelines.

But now those Portuguese chicken flavours are slowly making their way back into our lives, as the restaurant chain has teamed up with Deliveroo to ensure that a select few stores can re-open with reduced menus for takeaways.

Four of the first reopened restaurants can be found in London, while two of them are in Manchester. They are running with opening hours from 12pm to 9pm.

Wondering if you're one of the lucky locals? The specific chains available on the app from today are:

  • London - Clink Street
  • London - Camberwell
  • London - Canary Jubilee
  • London - Gloucester Road
  • Manchester - Fallowfield
  • Manchester - Printworks

If your closest branch is not on the list, unfortunately you won't yet be able to order Nando's from home.

However, don't be disheartened. If the first phase of the re-opening scheme is successful, the chain has plans to deliver more PERi-PERi goodness from branches in other parts of the UK, too.

Now, bring on the chicken! We've got our garlic PERinaise at the ready.
