This year, we've been treated to a whole string of twists on our favourite Christmas classics, and there's one festive snack that has undeniably taken centre stage: the humble pig in blanket.

First, a gigantic two metre version hit the shelves, then there was an extra spicy alternative. And the latest edition? Pigs in blankets with a hefty helping of cheese. Yum.

Brought to us by Morrisons, the new Christmas canapé might look pretty normal from the outside, but when you take a bite it's got a surprise cheesy centre just waiting to be discovered.

Tucked away within the pigs in blankets is aged Red Leicester cheese and the finest British sausage meat, wrapped in dry cured, smoked and streaky bacon.

The snacks are available now in Morrisons stores until 24th December, so you've got a small window to stock up in time for your festive celebrations.

A pack of ten is retailing for £3, but they're also available as part of a two for £5 deal across a selection of Morrisons' Christmas sausage and stuffing products.

While in Morrisons, why not also stock up on some other wintry goods for when you're entertaining this Crimbo?

The supermarket has also brought back its festive butters just in time for the holidays - available in their trademark jolly Santa and plump little Snowman shapes to brighten up your tables.

The best part is they cost just £1 too - an absolute steal considering they're bound to end up on everybody's Instagram feeds as well as on their toast.

It's also selling a Christmas mince pie sarnie up until Christmas Eve, which sounds bizarre, but is actually pretty darn great.

It's basically a fruity panettone style bread roll packed with a mince pie chutney, creamy cheddar cheese and crumbly Wensleydale. We're sold.

The sandwich costs £3 in all Morrisons' stores, and is also available as part of Morrisons meal deal, which includes all Food to Go mains, snacks and drinks for £3.50.

If Christmas isn't the time for weird and wonderful flavour combinations, then when is?
