Marmite Peanut Butter Is Coming To The UK

You'll either love it, or really, really hate it.

It's a spread that will no doubt divide the nation: Marmite peanut butter is being brought to UK supermarkets.

Launching later this month, Marmite peanut butter combines two beloved toast toppings into one jar.

The spread will be sold in Ocado.com from 25th March and will then arrive in Sainsbury's supermarkets from 7th April. After that, it will be rolled out to other supermarkets nationwide.

Marmite is combined with crunchy peanut butter (sorry, if you're a fan of the smooth stuff) to make the first permanent product innovation for Marmite since the brand was established in 1902.

The spread's arrival comes after "overwhelming demand" from consumers, says the brand.

Camilla Williamson, Brand Manager at Marmite, said in a statement: "The British public asked, and we listened. We're delighted to bring the nation exactly what they've been craving with the creation of Marmite Peanut Butter."

She added: "It's the most exciting product launch since the conception of the brand in 1902 and we're confident that the nation is going to love it."

A 225 gram jar will have a suggested retail price of £2.50, and is rich in vitamins with no added sugar.

As expected, the British public are already sharing their thoughts on the new product and it's clear that Twitter is split down the middle.

"Oh Jesus on ice skates I think @marmite are about to release Marmite butter and I'm so happy I could cry!!! MARMITE FLIPPIN' BUTTER!!!" exclaimed one eager fan.

A second tweeted: "MARMITE & PEANUT BUTTER IS MY FAVOURITE SPREAD COMBO!"

But another declared: "Sweet peanut butter mixed with bitter Marmite? That is disgusting."

"I love Marmite but not together with PEANUT BUTTER?" echoed somebody else unimpressed by the launch.

What's your verdict? Do you love it or hate it?
