Krispy Kreme Is Giving Free Doughnuts To People Who've Had Birthdays In Lockdown

Anyone who had a birthday in lockdown will know that despite all the best intentions, a Zoom quiz or a virtual club night just doesn't compete with cancelled parties, holidays, mini breaks or all-day boozy brunches.

It's fair to say we're not counting our 2020 birthday. Apart from, that is, to claim our free Krispy Kreme doughnut.

Yup, to mark their 83rd birthday, the doughnut giant is giving away a free Original Glazed (which in our opinion, is the best) to every person who 'celebrated' their special day during lockdown.

That's 22 million, FYI.

And with Krispy Kreme revealing that 1 in 10 didn't celebrate their birthday at all this year, they want to bring a much-deserved smile to the faces of doughnut fans across the UK.

The week-long offer, which is redeemable from 13th-19th July is available for those who had a birthday between 23rd March and 3rd July.

All you have to do is present a form of ID (showing your date of birth) to a member of Krispy Kreme staff, to enjoy a complimentary Glazed with any purchase of minimum value £1.55.

Richard Cheshire, Krispy Kreme UK an Ireland CEO, said: "We started making our iconic Original Glazed doughnut from the USA in 1937.

"Ever since, we've always been committed to making people smile. For our birthday this year, we want to bring smiles to the millions of UK doughnut fans who feel like they missed out on celebrations this year by offering the joy of an Original Glazed treat on us!"

The offer is limited to one redemption per person per transaction and you can view all the T&Cs here.

It's also worth noting that the deal isn't available in Ireland, Selfridges, Bentalls, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Asda, Moto, Universities, Welcome Break, Roadchef, Shell, EuroGarages, Center Parcs, Krispy Kreme mobile events, Krispy Kreme Occasions, and online orders.
