KP Snacks has launched Hula Hoop frozen potato shapes, and it's the bizarre foodie mashup we didn't know we needed.

The unique potato shapes promise to taste just like the crisps we love, except they're oven-roasted. Confused? Us too...

The frozen snacks come in Beef and Ready Salted flavours, and cost just £1.50 from Iceland.

If Hula Hoops aren't your thing, you can also buy Space Raider potato shapes, in either Beef flavour, or their distinctive Pickled Onion flavour.

The cult crisp-potato waffle hybrids are all freeze-able, so they can be stored for whenever you need to pull together a quick dinner.

And we bet that kids would be super excited by them. Alien shaped potato waffles... what's not to love?!

David Lennox, Head of Product Development at Iceland, said of the range: "The KP Snacks addition to our frozen food section is a really exciting one.

"We are always working closely with suppliers to create new and exciting products we know our customers will love and this is one we believe will temp crisp and chip lovers alike."

All the crisp-inspired freezer collection is available to shop online now.

In other foodie news, did you hear about Jacob's new Mini Cheddars flavours?

Teaming up with cheese companies from England, Scotland and Wales, the company invented three limited edition crisps - each meant to show off the best-loved regional cheeses that Britain has to offer.

From England comes the new Ploughman's Cheshire Cheese flavoured Mini Cheddars, with a little help from the cheesemongers that founded the country's oldest named cheese - the Cheshire Cheese Company.

Made to emulate the taste of a Ploughman's sandwich, with a "hint of pickle" and a "mild, creamy flavour" these golden baked snacks are not ones to miss.

Wales' offering is a fiery Dragon's Breath Chilli Cheddar - appropriately named in honour of the Welsh flag.

Made with cheese produced at the Blaenafon Cheddar Company, the chilli cheddar is named after a forge in the area and packs a seriously hot punch. You've been warned!

And as for Scotland? Well, the Scottish Mini Cheddars are flavoured with Strathdon Blue from Highlands Fine Cheeses in Tain.

You can expect a "rich, sweet blue tang" to these Mini cheddars. Sounds like well tidy scran to us!

The new range started selling in Tesco on Monday, and is set to roll-out across other major supermarkets and convenience stores from Friday (19th April).

This really is a good month to be a crisp addict...
