Heinz Launches New Ketchup, BBQ Sauce and Mayo Ice Cream Flavours

Yeaaah, unsure.

Before we begin, let us start by saying we're not adverse to the combination of sweet and savoury.

No, no. In fact, some of the best culinary delights on offer mix the two flavours: salted caramel, sticky pork ribs or bacon topped with maple syrup, for example.

However, Heinz' latest launch has us reeeeally struggling.

The sauce aficionados have just launched Heinz Creamz which are ice creams flavoured with their most iconic sauces, from ketchup to mayo and BBQ.

Like, we thought we were experimental with our food, but this one has truly thrown us.

The Heinz Creamz come in kits - including all the ingredients, accessories and an easy-to-make recipe - for curious foodies to try out the saucy ice creams.

On offer are Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Heinz Classic BBQ, Heinz Saucy Sauce, Heinz [Seriously] Good Mayonnaise or Heinz Salad Cream ice creams for lovers of all the classics.

Perhaps the most iconic of all, the Heinz ketchup ice cream promises to be the "ideal dessert for a hot summers day" and is apparently best when topped with crumbled meringue and drizzled with raspberry coulis.

You can also make a vegan sorbet with the ketchup kit, which Heinz suggest decorating with a sprig of fresh basil and drizzle with basil pesto for a "taste sensation".

If you say so...

Next up is Heinz [Seriously] Good Mayonnaise ice cream and here's where we have a real problem. Ice cream and mayonnaise?! Stop that.

Oh hell no (

Anyway, Heinz promise the "smooth and creamy" ice cream is a treat, and suggest pairing it with apple and blackberry compote and topped with a layer of crumble for a summery pudding.

Next, there's the Heinz BBQ Sauce ice cream. Described as "delicious smokey", the brand says the smokiness is perfect when paired with crispy bacon bits, pecan pieces & maple syrup.

Weirdly, that one sounds the most palatable so far... no? *Pretend it's chocolate, pretend it's chocolate.*

Following that, you could opt for Heinz Saucy Sauce ice cream, based on their newly-release ketchup and mayo hybrid.

Apparently, this one tastes good topped with Heinz Sweet Chilli Sauce, crushed peanuts and a squeeze of lime.

Finally, there's the Heinz Salad Cream ice cream which feels wrong on too many levels to compute. This "surprisingly delightful indulgent desert" is best paired with the sweetness of summer strawberries, apaz.

Each Heinz Cream kit can be ordered from heinztohome.co.uk for £15, with each kit including a bottle of sauce, reusable ice cream tub, limited edition engraved golden scoop and spoon and recipe card.

You'll also have to pay a small delivery charge - £3.50 for all UK addresses except £4 for Northern Ireland.

We have to admit, we think they'd be a great present for sauce obsessives.

David Chalbert, senior brand manager for Heinz sauces, said: "This summer is looking different for many of us, and while we might be staycationing or staying at home more than in other years, it doesn't mean you have to miss out on the joys of a good ice cream."

While we have a feeling Heinz might be trolling us with this one, we are curiously tempted to try some, especially the BBQ sauce one which actually sounds kind of... nice?!

Ok, we need a lie down.
